Chimney Cleaning
Chimney Cleaning - or "Chimney Sweeping" is a process in which our CSIA certified chimney sweep technicians use brushes on extending rods to physically clean the inside of the chimney to dislodge and remove dangerous and flammable creosote, built-up soot, and other debris. Chimney sweeping services are provided for all types of chimneys and flues including open fire (fireplace) chimneys and flues, as well as coal, gas, oil, and wood-fired heating systems.

Chimney Inspections
We provide 2 types of chimney inspection services. A Level I inspection is the most basic inspection and is a visual inspection conducted during each chimney sweeping. A Level II inspection is more comprehensive and includes a video scan of the interior of your chimney using state-of-the-art video camera equipment.
Chimney Cap Installation
Installing a chimney cap offers the best protection against moisture, leaves, debris, insects, birds, and animals from entering your chimney. Our high-quality stainless steel chimney caps carry a lifetime warranty and are available in a variety of standard sizes. We also offer custom chimney caps in other finishes or for non-standard sizes.
Chimney Crown Repair
Cracked or deteriorated chimney crowns can lead to water leaks and water damage and result in costly repairs. We repair damaged chimney crowns and prevent future problems by professionally installing a flexible rubbery, waterproof sealant over the entire chimney crown surface. This stops further water intrusion through the crown and carries a 15 year warranty. In situations where the cracks in the crown are too extensive or the crown is too deteriorated to be repaired, a new concrete crown can be formed and poured.
Chase Cover Repair
A rusted chimney chase cover is not only unsightly, but if left unchecked, the rust wlll continue to eat away at the chase cover eventually resulting in rain and snow water damage to the interior components of the chinney and fireplace. We offer two types of chase cover repair services. For chase covers having only surface rust and minimal corrosion, we provide resurfacing and resealing. This can be an effective and less costly remedy. As an alternative solution, or when the chase cover is too deteriorated for repair, it can be replaced with a high quality, custom stainless steel chase cover.
Custom Chase Covers
We install custom made chase covers for the tops of modern prefabricated fireplace chimney chases. These high-quality chase covers come in either stainless steel, copper, or galvanized steel. For chimneys where the existing chase cover is damaged beyond repair, this is the perfect solution.
Chimney Liner Installation
We reline all types of chimney flues using only the finest quality stainless steel liners. Our chimney relines also include either ceramic wrap or thermocrete for additional protection to ensure your chimney is well insulated to withstand the highest of temperatures.
Fireplace and Chimney Repairs
We offer a full suite of chimney and fireplace repair services. These include: Repair or replacement of chimney crowns, chase covers, flashing, and dampers; chimney and fireplace brick and masonry repair, restoration and repointing; chimney rebuilding; refractory panel replacement and firebox repairs; smoke chamber restoration; water penetration, smoke, and air intake (draft) remediation; and much more.
Top-Mount Dampers
We install top mounted fireplace dampers. We offer several different brands and styles to choose from. Top mount dampers are often used as replacements for leaky throat dampers. A top mount damper provide four season protection for your chimney. When closed, it serves as a chimney cap to seal in heat and air conditioning, and to seal out birds, animals, insects and debris. Some models come with caps so even when the damper is open, it still protects the chimney from birds, animals, insects and debris. Top mount dampers open and close by means of a cable dropped down the chimney to an easily accessible handle that mounts to the inside of the firebox.
Brick and Masonry Repairs
We offer a variety of masonry chimney repairs to keep your masonry fireplace and chimney operating at its best. We provide repointing services to repair the mortar joints between bricks. In addtion we perform other brick, masonry, and mortar repairs to fix deterioration and other problems that occur on both the outside and inside of the chimney, as well as to the fireplace and firebox.
ENERVEX Fan Installation
The ENERVEX Chimney Fan is the guaranteed solution to end draft problems and stop smoking fireplaces. The ENERVEX Fan mounts outside, atop the chimney, where it literally sucks the smoke from the flue. Its motor is completely enclosed and maintenance free with air-cooled, pre lubricated, sealed ball bearings. It comes with a prewired junction box, a fan speed control, and a bird screen. It is designed for minimum energy consumption, using about as much energy as a regular light bulb. It can be used with wood or gas fireplaces as well as coal and oil fueled appliances.
Firebox Repairs
The firebox is one of the most important parts of the fireplace. It is the part that holds and burns the wood fire. Quite often these blazing temperatures will crack or disintegrate the fire brick and the mortar joints between them. These conditions are very dangerous and should be corrected. We will either repoint the bad mortar joints, seal or replace the damaged firebricks, or rebuild the entire firebox.
Refractory Panel Replacement
Pre-Fab fireplaces differ from masonry fireplaces in that they are not made of brick and mortar. Instead, they are pre-fabricated in a factory out of very thin sheet metal and refractory cement panels. If you were to light a fire in this box with damaged or missing refractory panels, the metal could get overly hot and warp, thus permanently damaging the fireplace itself, or worse yet, the intense heat could transfer onto the nearby flammable wood chimney framing, which could catch on fire. To keep this from happening, Pre-Fab fireplaces have refractory cement insulating panels in the box which keep the metal cooler. With use, these panels eventually wear out. The panels can develop cracks, and/or chips, fragments, or flakes of cement can break off (known as spalling). When this occurs, the damaged panels need to be replaced by a qualified professional.
Smoke Chamber Repair
The smoke chamber is the transition area in a masonry chimney that starts directly above the damper and continues to where the first flue tile is installed. Smoke and hot gasses are in direct contact with the tapered smoke chamber walls as you burn your fires. The smoke chamber is a hot oven where much of the creosote accumulates and many chimney fires start. For this reason, NFPA 211 standards require that the smoke chamber walls be at least 8" thick and "parged" smooth. Parging is where the inside surfaces of the smoke chamber are sealed with a layer of mortar in order to close off any holes or gaps where heated flue gasses or carbon monoxide might escape. In some cases, the smoke chamber has not been parged, or holes in the parging may be present. In addition, sometimes the bottom flue tile is not sealed properly to the smoke chamber. To correct these problems, we use a specialized insulating, high-temperature refractory mortar specifically designed to address smoke chamber deficiencies.
Chimnmey Flashing
The chimney and roof are connected together by the chimney flashing. Chimney flashing provides a waterproof barrier that prevents rain water from running down the chimney into living spaces where it can damage ceilings or walls, or cause rot in rafters, joists, or other structural elements. We can make sure this transition between your chimney and roof doesn't leak by resealing cracked and deteriorated flashing to insure a watertight seal is maintained between the roofing material and the chimney.
chimney waterproofing Chimney Waterproofing
Chimneys are highly exposed to the elements and, if left unprotected, are susceptible to structural deterioration and discoloration. We use a top-of-the-line breathable waterproofing substance which is sprayed on the exterior of the chimney to seal the masonry and stop leaks. Our water repellent product penetrates and lines masonry pores to reduce water absorption and protect it from destructive water penetration. This means water vapors escape from the masonry, preventing deterioration, freeze-thaw damage, spalling, scaling and the need for expensive masonry reconstruction.
Animal Removal
If an animal has taken up residence in your chimney, call on us to eliminate the problem. We can remove any type of animal and/or nesting materials safely and humanely and in accordance with federal law (some animals, such as the Chimney Swift are protected by federal law and removal must follow federal and state guidelines). We recommend installing a good quality chimney cap to prevent pests from entering your chimney in the future.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
Our CDET certified dryer exhaust technicians are equipped with special tools specifically designed to thoroughly clean dryer vents and keep your dryer performing at maximum efficiency and safety. In our dryer vent cleaning process, we work from both the outside and inside of the home, using both brushes and blowers, to ensure both maximum effectiveness and thoroughness of cleaning. Our equipment can remove even the most difficult blockages, such as that caused by excessive lint buildup or animal nesting.
